A bomb threat was reported at the home of Pope Leo XIV’s brother, John Prevost, in Illinois on Wednesday evening. This threat – which ultimately turned out to be false – comes amid a week of targeted attacks on Pope Leo from President Trump over the pontiff’s opposition to the illegal US-Israeli wars against Iran and Lebanon.

There were no injuries and neighbors were allowed to return home after the evacuation, after police carried out a thorough search.

There is nothing tangible to suggest the threat is linked to Trump’s attacks on the pope, and an investigation is still underway. Trump, however, has just invoked the Pope’s other brother, Louis, a Trump supporter who lives in Florida, in his “low on crime» rant against Pope Leo.

“I like his brother Louis much better than him, because Louis is all MAGA,” Trump wrote on Sunday. “He understands, and Leo doesn’t! I don’t want a pope who thinks it’s okay for Iran to have nuclear weapons. I don’t want a pope who thinks it’s terrible that America attacked Venezuela, a country that was sending massive amounts of drugs to the United States and, worse, emptying its prisons, including murderers, drug dealers and killers, into our country. And I don’t want a pope who criticize the President of the United States because I am doing exactly what I was elected to do, IN A LANDSLIDE.
