Powerful storm rips North Texas city of Mineral Wells, causing significant damage, injuries
A powerful storm ravaged the northern Texas town of Mineral Wells on Tuesday, causing severe damage to the area, authorities said. City officials said people were injured, but none were critical. No deaths were immediately reported.
The storm appears to have blown through an industrial park, destroying buildings, ripping off roofs and scattering debris across the area. Metal was wrapped around poles and an HVAC plant was badly damaged, but employees were sent home before the storm.

Mineral Wells is located approximately 45 miles west of Fort Worth.
City emergency officials asked residents to stay home and avoid traveling to the northeastern area of the city due to the extensive damage caused by the storm. A 10 p.m. curfew was also imposed.
Officials said the area from Country Club Estates to Lake Mineral Wells State Park along Highway 180 has confirmed structural damage. First responders were on scene and assessing the situation.
Much of North Texas was subject to repeated rounds of severe thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and evening, with tornado warnings, damaging winds and large hail affecting several counties as storms continue to track across the region.
