Prep talk: Teenage barber is helping baseball players look good during playoffs

Baseball players like to feel comfortable wearing their hat, but also look good when they take it off. That’s where Birmingham High sophomore JV baseball player Noah Nolasco comes into play.
He’s cut the hair of players across the East Valley, from Birmingham to Poly to Sylmar to Bishop Alemany. It’s been busy because the playoffs are happening, and the players are apparently following the “look good, feel good, play good” philosophy.
One of his clients is Birmingham sophomore pitcher Carlos Acuna, who is 11-0 and playing in Saturday’s City Section Open Division championship game against El Camino Real at Dodger Stadium.
Nolasco said tapering is the preferred haircut these days and there are also players who bleach their hair blonde for the playoffs. He normally charges $25.
