President Shares Update About White House Renovations While Sporting Unique New Pin – RedState
President Donald Trump provided an update on the ongoing construction of the White House Grand Ballroom, while sporting a new pin on his jacket alongside an American flag pin.
Speaking to oil executives around a table in the East Room on Friday, Trump couldn’t deny the builder in him as he stood up and walked toward the renovations underway at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC. He wanted to see how the construction work on the much-anticipated ballroom was going.

“I had to look at that myself,” Trump said, before getting up to look out the windows and admire the work. “Wow, what a view. That’s the door to the ballroom. It’s an unusual time to look, but I thought we might as well.”
“If fake news wants to go back and take a look, you can,” he added. “But you’re looking at a very large foundation. We’re currently ahead of schedule and under budget.”
After the meeting, Trump gave an impromptu news conference and took a host of questions from members of the White House press corps.

Meanwhile, Fox News’ Peter Doocy took the opportunity to ask about the new pin the president was sporting on his jacket alongside that of the flag.

Trump explained that this is called a “happy Trump.” Yes, really.
“Someone gave me this. Do you know what it is? It’s called a ‘Happy Trump,'” the president explained. “And given the fact that I’m never happy, I’m never satisfied. I’ll never be satisfied until we make America great again!”
“But we’re getting pretty close, I’ll tell you,” he added. “It’s what we call a ‘Happy Trump.’ Someone gave it to me. I put it on.

Last July, Trump first sent mainstream media and left-wing politicians into a tizzy when he said it was high time the White House had a ballroom that replicated those in Europe, RedState reported.
“In the White House, as you know, for 150 years, they’ve wanted to have a ballroom. They don’t have one,” Trump explained. “They have meeting rooms. They have nice meeting rooms, you saw it, you interviewed me in those rooms. But they have nice meeting rooms.”
“But they never had a ballroom,” he added. “A ballroom, that is to say a place where you can seat 6 or 700 people if the president of China or France, or the United Kingdom, or [EU President] Ursula von der Leyen comes to town, you give them a big state dinner. We don’t have a room like that. At the White House, they have to use a tent.”
Trump said when it rains, it’s disaster, and he vowed that if he won a second time, he would build one to fix it.

Construction on the estimated 90,000 square foot ballroom began in September, with President Trump explaining that the entire $200 million project was funded by himself and private donors.
