Pro-Lifers Shred Trump Admin’s Biden-Era Title X Extension As ‘Inexplicable Slap In The Face’

President Donald Trump’s administration announced an extension of Title
The move comes after the White House ended Biden-era Title X grants in 2025, leading to a wave of lawsuits from Planned Parenthood and other affiliated groups such as the American Civil Liberties Union, The Daily Wire reported. The Ministry of Health and Social Services notably released the subsidies in January 2026, triggering negative reactions among pro-life activists, according to the media. White House spokesperson Kush Desai confirmed the information in a statement provided Tuesday afternoon to the Daily Caller News Foundation, saying thatThe Trump administration “provided the fifth and final year of Title X grants that were blocked during the Biden presidency.”
“The administration faced significant legal challenges in preventing the outflow of these dollars,” Desai continued. “Title X funds cannot be used for abortion by law, and consistent with President Trump’s executive order implementing the Hyde Amendment, the Administration remains committed to realigning the Title
Desai added that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services “continues to faithfully execute the One Big Beautiful Bill’s defunding of Planned Parenthood in Medicaid spending, and the administration continues to cut millions in public funds for the international abortion industry.”
Planned Parenthood did not respond to DCNF’s request for comment.

Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser said in a statement Tuesday that the administration fSupporting Planned Parenthood “means supporting a company whose primary purpose is to end the lives of innocent unborn children.”
“This is an inexplicable slap in the face to the GOP’s pro-life base,” Dannenfelser added. “Three out of four Grassroots GOP voters support defunding Planned Parenthood. A third of these voters say they would be less enthusiastic about voting in November if the Republican Party abandoned its pro-life policies. This is an obvious abandonment since the first Trump administration adopted the Protect Life Rule to end Title X funding of Planned Parenthood. This should have been the “day one” policy under the second administration. Instead, it’s been 14 months and nothing has been prevented.”
Dannenfelser also asserted that “enough is enough.”

March for Life Education and Advocacy Fund President Jennie Bradley Lichter wrote in a statement posted to X on Tuesday that it is “absolutely infuriating” that the Trump administration “continues to fund an organization whose business model is to end human lives, mislead pregnant women into believing that abortion is their only option, and provide substandard health care, even in the rare cases where abortion is not involved.
«@SecKennedy Defunding Planned Parenthood is not about making America healthy again, far from it,” she added.

The White House asserted in a January 23 fact sheet that Trump is “the most pro-life president in history,” adding that his administration is “proud to have reversed the radical left’s war on the family and restored a culture of life in our society – recognizing that all humans are created in the image of God, with infinite value and unlimited potential.”
The Trump administration announced in early March that it was opening an investigation into thirteen American states that would require insurers to cover abortion.
In July 2025, Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act into law, which defunded Planned Parenthood. As of November 2025, nearly 50 Planned Parenthood health centers had been closed due to the loss of Title X funds and Medicaid reimbursements, the organization reported.
Additionally, the Small Business Administration (SBA) announced in January that it had sent letters to 38 Planned Parenthood affiliates, requiring them to produce documentation proving they were eligible to receive more than $88 million in pandemic relief through the SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program when the program was operational.
An estimated 1,126,000 abortions were performed by U.S. clinicians in 2025, a 21% increase from 2020, the Guttmacher Institute reported in March. A Pew Research Center survey released March 12 found that 60% of Americans said abortion should be legal in all or most cases, compared to 38% who said it should be illegal in all or most cases.
