Qi2 has finally caught up to Apple just in time for the iPhone 17 to beat it

In the past year, the only way to get a 25W magnetic load on your iPhone 16 Plus or Pro Max (or 22.5W on the iPhone 16 or 16 Pro) was with the official Apple Magsafe charger. It is finally loaded with the first 25 magnetic wireless charging products that strike the shelves in the coming weeks, offering farewell to 15W qi2 loaders.
Initially called Qi 2.2, the technology will now be called Qi2 25W, and we expect super speed chargers from Belkin, Ucreen, Anker and Baseus to land on the shelves in the coming weeks. However, as the timing aligns perfectly with the launch of the iPhone 17 next month, rumors suggest that Apple will announce a new version of Magsafe which could reach speeds of 50 W.
Last fall, Apple began to sell a updated Magsafe charger that can feed the iPhone 16 with a maximum of 25W. Similarly, the Qi2 25W chargers to come will work soon with iPhone 16 and 17 with iOS 26, allowing the iPhone to take care of 50% in just 30 minutes with a third -party accessory.
Qi2 25W, like Magsafe, obtains its increase in the speed of smarter energy and heat management, because the wireless load is less effective than loading using a physical cable. While Qi2 25W relies on the basis of Apple Magsafe Magsafe technology and is available for a range of devices, Android phones rarely take magnetic load and are mainly limited to slow Qi charging carpets.
Belkin, who announced that his next wireless chargers have officially received Qi2 25W certification, expects Android brands such as Google, Samsung and OnePlus to announce the Qi2 25W support soon. Qi2 25W is back compatible with Qi2 and Qi devices, although these older accessories do not provide faster speeds. Maximum speeds decompose like this:
- Magsafe: 15W-25W
- Compatible Magsafe: 7.5W
- Qi2: 15W
- Qi2 25W: 25W
An apple move to 50W would maintain it considerably in advance on the chargers of 25W thirds. Apple should launch the iPhone 17 in September. For all the latest news, stay listening to our superguid iPhone 17.
