Rutgers professor mocks rescue cat, compares it to Turning Point USA

An associate professor at Rutgers University appeared to mock Turning Point USA (TPUSA) by comparing it to his ill-behaved cat, saying the animal was “howling incoherently” and “pooping on the floor,” and seemed to suggest that the nonprofit’s members behaved similarly.
“Happy National Cat Day, Polly came from a shelter and that’s what MNT celebrates,” Whitney Strub wrote in an X-post last week.

“I was trying to talk her out of joining Turning Point USA, but then I realized she was walking around the house screaming incoherently and kept pooping on the floor, so she might be a good person,” he added.

Strub then reposted it with an additional comment referencing his academic background, writing: “As a free speech historian and co-chair of a union committee on academic freedom, I recognize the right of Turning Point USA members to quote tweets and denounce my perverse libertine life, etc.

Strub’s remarks come amid ongoing controversy surrounding Antifa-aligned Rutgers professor Mark Bray, who left the country “for security reasons” after conservative students called for his dismissal.
Last month, members of Rutgers’ TPUSA chapter launched a petition to remove Bray, an assistant professor at Rutgers, citing concerns about his past statements in support of Antifa.
Strub is also co-chair of the AAUP-AFT Rutgers Joint Committee on Academic Freedom, which issued a statement last month defending Bray and hitting the school’s TPUSA chapter.

He added: “Sorry to see Charlie Kirk I didn’t succeed. I deplore gun violence and I find it corny to speak ill of the dead, so tomorrow I will pay tribute to it by demonstrating with my diapers.”

Megyn Doyle, a Rutgers student and treasurer of the TPUSA chapter that started the petition to impeach Bray, told Fox News Digital that she thought Strub’s post showed a “bias against conservatives.”
“Professor Whitney Strub’s bias against conservatives is clear,” Doyle said. “Not only did he co-author a defamatory statement against Rutgers Turning Point and defend an Antifa professor, but Whitney Strub mocked the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Whitney is one of many Rutgers professors who uses his position of power to show hostility toward conservative students.”
“Instead of disciplining this professor for his disgusting remarks, they called a meeting to discuss ‘behavioral concerns’ after I reported this professor’s behavior. That’s what happens when Rutgers students report professors like Mark Bray or Whitney Strub, they get punished,” Doyle added.

Another article mentioned a visit to a theater that showed pornographic films, which said, “yeah, that’s ambitious. My closest equivalent was the weird porn theater outside of Seattle in a big storage bunker that showed straight and trans porn together against a wall, different shots for different people at once.”
