Former Olympic snowboarder Ryan’s Weddinga suspected drug lord accused of orchestrating several murderswas arrested, Justice Department officials announced Friday.

Wedding, a 44-year-old Canadian national, was arrested Thursday evening in Mexico, FBI Director Kash Patel said in a social media post. Attorney General Pamela Bondi said in another article that he was flown to the United States. Patel said Wedding had been hiding in Mexico for more than a decade.

Additional details about Wedding’s arrest are expected to be announced Friday at a news conference with Patel in California.

Marriage was added to List of the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives last year.

Wedding was accused of running a major drug trafficking ring that transported cocaine from Colombia through Mexico to the United States and Canada.

In November, Wedding was accused of placing a “multi-million dollar bounty” on a federal witness involved in a drug case against him.

According to the FBI, Wedding and his deputy Andrew Clark, 34, also ordered the murder of two members of a Canadian family in 2023 in retaliation for a stolen drug shipment.

The two men are also accused of directing the murder of another person in 2024 over a drug debt, according to the FBI.
