SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A crowd of several thousand people demonstrated just blocks from the historic Alamo in downtown San Antonio. The crowd was part of the latest “No Kings” rallies taking place across the country.

On Saturday, the group listened to several speakers who denounced President Trump as a dictator, chanted anti-ICE slogans and criticized U.S.-Israeli military action in Iran. Breitbart Texas observed protesters chanting for several hours, led by members of the San Antonio Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) and other organizers, before beginning a march through the streets. Many members of the group carried signs, some containing vulgar language, criticizing the latest military action in Iran, and others calling for the complete abolition of ICE.

The protest was attended by many members of PSL, the Democratic Socialist Party, Planned Parenthood, 50501 and Bexar County Democrats. Several groups set up booths to sell merchandise or distribute political signs and T-shirts promoting U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico, who hopes to unseat U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX).

Several members of the group wore inflatable costumes, some carrying crude signs criticizing President Trump. Some wore fancy costumes or painted their faces like clowns in protest. Several protesters at the rally were accompanied by young children, including a young child carrying a vulgar sign directed at ICE.

Several demonstrators wore Palestinian keffiyeh scarves as they manned a stand criticizing Israeli military action against Hamas and Hezbollah after October 7.

Most speakers at Saturday’s protest focused on defunding and abolishing ICE and ending ongoing U.S. and Israeli military strikes under “Operation Epic Fury.” The group then marched through the streets of downtown San Antonio with a police escort, while organizers continued to sing.

Ironically, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), the parent union of rank-and-file Border Patrol agents, is listed as a partner sponsor of the national “No Kings” rallies. While thousands of Border Patrol processing coordinators and civilian employees go unpaid, their parent union sponsors those marching in the rally, marching through San Antonio, chanting “F%*& The Migra!”

The march took place peacefully through the city center under the gaze of tourists and passing motorists. There were no arrests or incidents requiring the San Antonio Police Department to respond.
