The Snapshot Wisconsin project recently collected its photo of 100 million trail cameras! In addition, this step coincides with the 10th anniversary of the project. Congratulations to the team and to all those who participated!

Snapshot Wisconsin uses a network on the scale of the state of trails managed by volunteers to monitor and better understand the diversity of state fauna, white -tailed deer with racket hares, darling cranes and much more.

“It was incredible to have an overview of our wild treasures via the instant lens,” said a volunteer. “Satisfactory to advance research on fauna in the digital age.”

Snapshot Wisconsin was launched in 2013 with the help of a subsidy from NASA and is supervised by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. He recently won a new subsidy from the Citizen Science for Earth Systems of NASA.

The volunteer classifications of the species present in the photos of trail cameras have fueled many different scientific investigations over the years. You too can get involved in the cheerfulness by visiting the project site on the Crowdsourcing Zooniverse platform and helping to classify its latest photo season today!
