Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama says he’s been cleared to return after blood clot


San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is expecting to play this coming season and was fully cleared after treating with a deep venous thrombosis in the last months, he told French newspaper in remarks published on Monday.
There was no immediate commentary on the spurs on the report. We expected that the team provided that Wembanyama could start this coming season, although there has not been an official word so far.
“I am officially authorized to come back. … I can finally play a little basketball again,” Wembanyama told French Sports Daily.
Wembanyama was the recruit of the league two years ago, and the Spurs goalkeeper Stephon Castle won this same trophy last season. Wembanyama was the first runner to be a defensive player of the year last year when he was diagnosed with the blood clot on the right shoulder in February.
It was on average 24.3 points, 11 rebounds, 3.8 blocks and 3.7 assists when closed; The only other player in the NBA history to end an average season for all that was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1975-76.
