Stefanik Shreds Liberal Media Host in Heated Exchange Over ‘Genocide’ in Iran and Viral Trump Post – RedState

How long has the media been trying to convince President Donald Trump…10 years now?
They have failed countless times.
Yet they are still there. What do they say about doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result? They keep trying anyway.
CNN’s Jake Tapper had his head handed to him by Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik (NY-21) during a “State of the Union” interview on Sunday.
Tapper claimed that Trump’s April 7 comment about dealing with the Iranian regime, that his “entire civilization is going to die,” was the same thing as “genocide.”
🚨 HOLY SMOKES. Rep. Elise Stefanik burst onto Jake Tapper’s show and blasted her lies about Trump to his face!
“TYPICAL CNN! If you want to compare the president to college presidents who have not called for condemnation of Jewish calls for GENOCIDE, that’s YOUR turn!” 🔥… pic.twitter.com/iD6wORjukf

TAPPER: Call for genocide on a college campus and call for genocide by the President of the United States, they’re both bad, right?
STEFANIK: President Trump did not call for genocide, Jake. You put those words in his mouth. He engages in diplomatic back and forth!
TAPPER: Is your entire civilization going to die?
STEFANIK: It’s the terrorist regime, Jake. It targets the terrorist regime. You add genocide. This is NOT what he said! He was not calling for genocide. It targeted the Iranian terrorist regime. It targeted the Iranian terrorist regime.
TAPPER: Agree to disagree (smiling).
Typical CNN tapper. Stefanik scolded him. “If you want to support the Iranian terrorist regime, it’s your fault,” she said.
Trump used tough language to reach out to a terrorist regime, using words that could move them and bring them to the negotiating table. It was successful, as Stefanik noted. The regime believed him; they believed themselves to be in great difficulty; they even deployed “human shields” on bridges and power plants. Without that threat, he might not have brought them to the table.
What Jake also leaves out is the context of his comments in that same tweet. Trump followed the “civilization” comment by talking about “47 years of regime extortion, corruption and death finally coming to an end” and “God bless the great people of Iran!” So obviously he was talking about removing the regime, the evil “civilization” that they had imposed on the people, and helping the people do it, as Stefanik said.
Trump had also spent much of the day before speaking passionately about the Iranian people and all they had been through, which also undermined Tapper’s claim. He has repeatedly spoken of the courage of the Iranian people in resisting the regime.

If Trump had wanted to commit “genocide,” he would not have spent all this time trying to push the regime into a deal.
But it’s common in media outlets like CNN to remove context and manipulation. We’ve seen it time and time again against Trump for 10 years – and counting.
Editor’s Note: For decades, past presidents have talked the talk and done nothing. Now, Donald Trump eliminates the Iranian threat once and for all.
