Stephen Colbert rips into the Trump phone
In a complete turnaround in 2026, the Trump Mobile T1 smartphone is expected to ship to customers (probably?), after a legion of delays. Originally announced in June 2025 by the US President’s sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr., the $499 gold phone was supposed to launch in September last year but was repeatedly pushed back.
On The late showStephen Colbert hacked Trump Mobile’s flagship phone, which finally arrived after nine months.
“The only thing about Trump more disappointing after nine months of waiting was Eric,” Colbert said.
“You know, I’ve said a lot of mean things about Eric over the years. As for the phone, let’s be clear, this thing it’s rubbish. When they announced the phone last year, the Trumps promised it would be “made in the USA,” but now that it’s here, get ready, it’s no longer “made in the USA.” The website now simply says “designed with American values in mind.” It’s pretty close, okay? It’s just like Arby’s slogan: “We’ve got the meats…in mind.” »
