‘Suspicious Device’ Found Inside Vehicle Near NYC’s Gracie Mansion – RedState
Evacuations are taking place near Gracie Mansion, the official residence of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, after a suspicious device was identified in a nearby vehicle.

“As part of the ongoing investigation into the improvised explosive device deployed yesterday, the NYPD has identified a suspicious device in a vehicle on East End Avenue between 81st Street and 82nd Street. NYPD officers have frozen the area around the vehicle and are conducting limited evacuations of nearby buildings while the bomb squad assesses and removes the device.”
The device was seen during the “ongoing investigation into the improvised explosive device deployed” on Saturday against police and supporters of an “anti-Islamization” demonstration. Two men suspected of being American citizens, Emir Balat and Ibrahim Kayumi, were arrested in connection with the attack, reports Bill Melugin of Fox News.
We learned earlier Sunday that the device thrown in Saturday’s attack “was not a fraudulent device or smoke bomb” but “an improvised explosive device that could have caused serious injury or death.”

Retired NYPD Detective Paul Mauro said sources said the devices were loaded with TATP (triacetone triperoxide), adding:
“[TATP] is a favorite of real terrorists, and it’s not something two idiots off the street would likely produce. This wasn’t an M-80 wrapped in nails and duct tape. It is very difficult to detect, very powerful and extremely unstable. »

The New York Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are investigating Saturday’s attack, calling it a possible act of terrorism “because one of the suspects directly referenced ISIS in his statements to law enforcement,” according to NBC News.
