Tech executives, but not Elon Musk, to attend White House dinner

President Trump is expected to have dinner with Apple, Meta, Google and Openai technological leaders on Thursday evening during a recently renovated Rose Garden.
The rally is the latest example of how the most powerful technological leaders in the world are developing stronger links with Trump’s second administration.
There is a high -level technological framework that will not be in the Gathering: Tesla and the director general of Xai, Elon Musk, who supported Trump but who then led with the president after having temporarily led an effort to reduce public spending.
Musk posted on X that he was “invited, but that I unfortunately could not attend” and a representative would present himself on his behalf.
The hill first indicated that around two dozen technology and business leaders, notably Meta director of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, Apple Managing Director, Tim Cook, the co-founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates, the managing director of Google Sundar Pichai and the director general of Openai, Sam Altman, appear on the list of invitations. The rally should take place after the First Lady Melania Trump is organizing an event for the new working group on artificial intelligence education.
“The president is looking forward to welcoming the best commercial, political and technological leaders for this dinner and the many dinners to come to the new earthworks of the Roseraie,” said the White House spokesman Davis Ingle to The Hill.
Meta refused to comment. Apple and XAI did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
Before dinner, Microsoft and Openai announced that companies support the efforts of the White House to extend the literacy of AI. While AI disrupts industries, including entertainment and health care, workers have expressed anxiety as to whether they will lose their jobs.
Openai said he was working with companies such as Walmart and John Deere to build a platform that will help employers find workers with AI skills. The San Francisco Tech Company, which also has a platform where people can learn more about AI, plans to offer certifications so that workers can show how much they know about technology. Openai said it aims to certify 10 million Americans by 2030.
Microsoft has described several ways to try to help students and workers acquire more IA skills thanks to their subsidies, partnerships and products, in particular by offering a year of Microsoft 365 Personal – which includes the assistant co -pilot of the company’s AI – free for all American students if they register before the end of October.
“AI is the decisive technology of our time, and how we allow people to use it will shape the future of our country,” said Microsoft Director of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, who should also attend dinner in a video. “This is why we are very grateful to the president, the first lady and the whole administration of having made the national priority to prepare the next generation to exploit the power of the AI.”
The leaders of Silicon Valley Tech had a controversial relationship with Trump during his first mandate, coming out with the president on issues such as immigration.
They took a more friendly tone with the president during his second term as they put pressure on a more practical approach to regulations while competing to dominate the artificial intelligence race.
In July, the Trump administration published an action plan which aimed to reduce “administrative formalities” so that technological companies can quickly develop and deploy AI technology when they compete with companies in China and elsewhere. Trump hit the venture capital David Sacks, who should also attend the Dinner on Thursday, to guide the White House policy on AI and cryptocurrency.
As technological companies invoice in advance, children’s security and defense groups have raised concerns, there is not enough railing in place to protect the mental health of young people as they overthrow their darkest thoughts to chatbots.
Trump has also publicly criticized many technology leaders before concluding agreements with them. After Trump called for the resignation of the Director General of Intel Lip-Bu Tan on alleged conflicts linked to his investments reported in Chinese companies, tensions were cooled after their meeting. Intel then announced in August that the United States government would participate about 10% in the semiconductor company.
Trump also concluded an unusual agreement with NVIDIA and Advanced Micro Devices which allows companies to sell certain fleas to China in exchange for offering it from the United States government a 15% drop in these sales.
This has raised questions among politicians and legal experts as to whether this agreement is legal. NVIDIA previously said that it would spend up to $ 500 billion over the next four years in AI infrastructure.
Other technological leaders have shown support for construction in the United States, while faced the threat of Trump administration prices. They also donated to Trump’s inaugural fund after winning the presidential election and presented themselves to large -scale events.
In August, Apple undertook to spend an additional $ 100 billion in national manufacturing, which led its total investment commitment to the United States to $ 600 billion after Trump criticized the company for the expansion of iPhone manufacturing in India.
OPENAI, Oracle and SoftBank announced this year that they had planned to invest a total of $ 500 billion in American AI infrastructure over the next four years.
