Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine will serve a three-month sentence in the same Brooklyn jail where Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife are being held, in addition to accused CEO killer Luigi Mangione.

The rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernández, visited the Metropolitan Detention Center on Tuesday and he apparently has high hopes of meeting the deposed Venezuelan leader.

“I want to dance with Maduro!” Tekashi told TMZ before turning himself in to authorities. He appeared to wink at Maduro’s public dance moves, which the New York Times said convinced some members of the Trump administration that he was mocking them.

Tekashi told the outlet that he planned to invite Maduro to play cards. He also said that if he crossed paths with Mangione, he hoped to tell the alleged shooter everything about the support he is receiving on social media.

The rapper will live in MDC for the next 90 days after pleading guilty last year to violating the terms of his probation in a New York gang case by assaulting a man at a Florida mall and keeping drugs in his home. He will serve his sentence in the same notorious detention center that has housed such infamous inmates as Ghislaine Maxwell, R. Kelly and Sean “Diddy” Combs.

In an Instagram video on Monday, Tekashi opened up about all the “influencer-worthy” encounters he hopes to experience behind bars.

“Yo guys, remember when I told you I got arrested, I was in jail with Diddy, the president of Honduras and Sam Bankman-Fried, I think, the FTX guy. And you thought I was lying?”

“Now I’m about to go meet the president of Venezuela. I’m lucky to be locked down with presidents,” he continued. “Oh, and I’m about to meet Luigi too, Luigi Mangione. About to play chess with them, n-as, eat ramen noodles.”

It remains to be seen whether Tekashi will actually have the opportunity to meet with Maduro and Mangione, although he would have to be separated from the general population, likely in the same area as those high-profile men, his lawyer told ABC 7.

As for Maduro, the Venezuelan president was detained at the MDC after a U.S. military operation captured him and his wife at their Caracas home early Saturday morning and brought them to New York to face federal narcoterrorism charges.

During their first court appearance on Monday, the former leader claimed they had been “kidnapped” from their home and insisted he was “still the president” of his country.

Maduro and his wife have pleaded not guilty. The couple are expected to remain detained at MDC for the time being.

Mangione, who faces trial for the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, has also pleaded not guilty. He has been at the MDC since his arrest in December 2024. His trial date has not yet been set.
