Tennessee High School Football: Nashville Christian cruises in Jared Curtis’ final game
For the second consecutive season, Nashville Christian (Tenn.) wins TSSAA Class A, Division II state champions.
Vanderbilt signee Jared Curtis threw for nearly a half-dozen touchdowns as he led the Eagles to a 59-7 rout of the University School Of Jackson at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga on Thursday afternoon. The Eagles had a stunning 49-0 halftime lead and never looked back as they cruised throughout the second half.
Curtis finished his high school football career by winning his second straight state championship as the Eagles came away dominating in his final prep game before heading to Vanderbilt.

Nashville Christian (13-0) opened the scoring less than two minutes into the game as Curtis scored on a short touchdown run. It wouldn’t be long before the floodgates began to flow as the Eagles began to find the end zone almost at will in the first half.
Running back TJ Ward showed off his wheels to the crowd in attendance in the first half, accounting for three touchdowns as the Eagles raced to an insurmountable lead.
Nashville Christian remained virtually unchallenged throughout the playoffs as the Eagles outscored their opponents by a total of 142-28 in three games played. For one night, the Eagles faithful got one last look at Curtis before he headed to Vanderbilt.
