A mysterious cartoon lizard has become the last rising star of Tiktok.

The green reptile, standing in a black room with a slightly dazed smile, repeatedly strikes a small icon of lizard on a brilliant screen – each time triggering an automated voice saying “Lizard”.

It comes from a post-key scene from the latest Disney Pixar film “Elio” which was released in June. The scene was a promotion for the next outing of Pixar “Hoppers”, which arrives in theaters next spring.

But in recent weeks, the clip has become a viral meme, the soundbite making its way in many musical remixes online.

According to the database even, Know Your Even, the Teaser resumed the traction after YouTuber The Pixar Nerd published a video of it on June 20. A month later, on July 27, the Tiktok Igreenscreenthings account published a green screen model made by the user with the lizard.

The model has inspired more than 78,000 videos on Tiktok, where people use it to represent spam actions like jumping songs, annoying their friends or quickly warning in work compliance training.

“My last brain cell trying to cross the working day,” wrote a tiktker in the text of their video using the same.

The lizard also inspired a range of fans’ creations. One user has made a t-shirt commemorating the meme, and another cooked a cake inspired by a lizard with a mobile click arm.

A creator of Tiktok gained massive traction by making lizard’s soundbitus mashups with various popular songs. A mashup Lézard with the 2010 classic “Like A G6” has accumulated more than 12 million views, and others have prepared for successes like “Rap God” by Eminem, “Wap” by Cardi B and “Thunderstruck” of AC / DC also had millions of views each.

An artist of an Edm music festival in Denver last weekend even presented the Lézard in his set on stage.

Pixar’s official social media accounts recognized media threshing around the meme last week. By publishing the clip on its platforms, the animation studio wrote: “His name is Tom.”

“See Tom in Disney & Pixar #Hoppers, arriving in theaters on March 6, 2026. 🦎” Pixar wrote in legend.

Tom is not presented in the trailer of the new film, which follows a girl named Mabel because his conscience is transferred to the body of a robotic beaver, which allows him to communicate with other animals.

NBC News contacted Pixar to comment.

Although we don’t know much about Tom The Lizard, many online still don’t seem to have enough of him.

Or, at the very least, cannot get him out of their heads.
