The iPhone 17 Pro could cost more than ever

At Macworld, we like to get on our soap box and complain about specifications where Apple Shortchanges is customers. We complained about RAM on Mac until Apple must have finally upgraded the baseline at 16 GB to accommodate Apple Intelligence. Our last cause is the basic storage configuration for iPhones: it must be 256 GB, not the current 128 GB.
According to an article by Weibo de Setsuna Digital, this upgrade can finally occur. Setsuna Digital, which has the reputation of precise iPhone leaks, says that “in 2025, Pro will finally start at 256 GB. It is really not easy for Apple.” It would be a boost compared to the 128 GB that the iPhone 16 pro offers its basic configuration. (The largest iPhone 16 pro Max starts at 256 GB.)
What seems to be good news, but Setsuna Digital said in a later article that the starting price would increase by $ 50, which means that the iPhone 17 Pro would start at $ 1049 or $ 1,149 for the basic configuration, depending on whether the message took into account the additional $ 100 Apple already for the 256 GB model.
We have seen other reports that indicate that the iPhone 17 range can have higher prices. It seems inevitable, given the state of the economy, prices and rising costs. One way for Apple to soften to blow a higher price is to move its storage offers. For example, when Apple published the iPhone 15 Pro Max, it started with 256 GB of storage, eliminating the level of 128 GB which was the basis of the iPhone 14 Pro Max – but the starting price increased from $ 100 to $ 1. It is the same price that Apple loaded for the iPhone 14 Pro Max of 256 GB, so Apple did not invoice technically more, simply eliminating one of the lower price options.
It therefore seems that we will see a similar tactic to increase the price of the iPhone 17 Pro. One way to look at it – and it could be something that Apple will indicate – is that a price of $ 1,049 for 256 GB is actually a price drop, because Apple sells the iPhone 16 pro of 256 GB for $ 1099. This assumes that Apple does not lower the entry -level price from $ 150, of course.
Regarding the non -pro model, Apple should keep the same price of $ 799 for the iPhone 17. The iPhone 17 air, which replaces the iPhone 16 more than $ 899, could cost more, possibly $ 949 or $ 999, to replace the more expensive pro model.
We will learn how early everything is enough, because Apple should unveil the iPhone 17 next month, perhaps September 9. Until then, you can follow all the rumors and reports of our iPhone 17 Supergui.
