The original AirTag is the cheapest it’s ever been

Despite the fact that Apple launched a new AirTag in January, the First generation AirTag is still a top-notch tracker if you’re integrated into the Apple ecosystem. And right now, it’s on sale for $13.91 ($15.09 off) at Walmart, which marks a new low price.
If you own an iPhone, the original AirTag still offers a level of accuracy that few trackers can match, thanks to its ultra-wideband (UWB) chip and access to Apple’s extensive Find My network. While most Bluetooth trackers simply tell you the general location of a misplaced object, the AirTag guides you directly to it with on-screen arrows and distance estimates. Apple is also continually adding new software benefits to make it easier to recover lost or stolen items. For example, you can share the location of an AirTag with up to five people, which is useful if you’re traveling with family, and even temporarily share the location of an AirTag with American Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, and other airlines, a benefit if you’re searching for lost luggage. And, as an added bonus, when the battery dies after a year or so, you can simply replace it with a new one rather than having to upgrade it.
The second-generation model builds on what is already a formidable tracker. It has an improved UWB chip, allowing it to track objects up to 50% further, and its speaker is noticeably louder. If you have an Apple Watch Series 9 or newer, you can also use Precision Search from your watch to locate items instead of opening the Find My app on your phone. These are all welcome improvements, but if you just need a tracker to keep tabs on your stuff when you go out of town over spring break, the original AirTag will still do the job just fine.
