Don’t Respect This Supreme Court — They Don’t Care About the Constitution
On MSNBC’s “The Beat” Friday, Democratic strategist James Carville said people shouldn’t respect the current Supreme Court because it doesn’t care about the Constitution.
Host Ari Melber said: “When you look at the Supreme Court, I mean, a lot of these issues arise there. And again, Trump ends the week with another setback, limiting the power of the troops. But then it all goes back to that court. And I’m curious what you think about that and what the Democrats are supposed to say, because it can be annoying if they keep beating him. And then the court seems to considered Pyrrhic victories.”
Carville said, “So Louisiana is a one-third black state and they have six congressional districts. They seem to be on the verge of deciding you can draw them however you want. They’re talking about bringing the legislature back into special session.”
He added: “Black people in Louisiana are a third of our population, and there may not be a single black person representing this state in the United States House of Representatives. The Supreme Court is a Republican court. It’s an adjunct of the Republican Party. You don’t have to respect what they do. You don’t have to like what they do. You have to follow them because they got there, you can come and stop but never, ever respect these people. Never think that they are conscientious about these people. law and they are trying to decide something based on the Constitution. They could change the Constitution just a little bit. Every American should know this. You just have to follow them, but you don’t have to follow them at all.
