This $544 Acer laptop has 32GB RAM and Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU

Hell, Acer, just take a look at the rest of the budget laptop space, why don’t you? At $544 for a refurbished model, the Acer Swift Go 16 offers specs you can’t find in a laptop at twice that price. We’re talking a 16-inch touchscreen, 32GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and a 16-core Intel Ultra 9 processor.
The Swift Go 16 is meant to be a portable powerhouse, as if you couldn’t tell from this spec list. Despite a large 16:10 touchscreen and powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, it weighs just 1.6 kilograms (3.53 pounds) and 356 mm (14 inches) wide. This extra space gives it room for plenty of ports: dual USB-C, dual USB-A, HDMI, and microSD, as well as a backlit keyboard with a full number pad. Other impressive specs include support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, as well as an infrared camera for face unlock and Windows Hello presence detection.
It’s not the prettiest laptop on the market, and I can’t find anything about battery life aside from a vague “up to 8 hours 30 minutes” quote on a MicroCenter listing. This is… not great, considering what other Meteor Lake designs can achieve. But if you need a lot of power (including Arc graphics for mid-range gaming) in an affordable package, this one will be hard to beat.
Although it’s sold on eBay, the laptop comes directly from Acer as a seller and refurbisher, with a two-year Allstate warranty. If that’s not what you’re looking for, check out PCWorld’s roundup of the best laptops on the market.
