This Dell Snapdragon laptop with 16GB of RAM is crazy for just $450

Finding budget laptops that I would actually recommend to people is becoming a struggle, with the rising prices on everything and electronics in particular. But today, Best Buy is coming to the rescue with a Dell Inspiron laptop that’s almost half its retail price. Now available for just $449.99, you can get this 14-inch model with a Snapdragon processor and 16GB of RAM for $350 off the usual $799.99!
The latest version of the Inspiron 14 isn’t exactly dazzling, even by the standards of affordable designs. But with that capacious memory, 512GB of roomy enough storage, and monster battery life thanks to that Snapdragon X processor, it’s more than serviceable for anyone who just needs a decent laptop and nothing fancy. Mark Knapp praised its 1200p display and capable keyboard in his PCWorld review, although he noted that there are much more powerful options.
The Arm-based Snapdragon processors aren’t great for gaming, but with 17 hours of battery life (8 hours in a torture test) and an average weight of 3.3 pounds, they’re perfect for a basic machine that’s easy to take anywhere. You may want to carry a USB hub, as two USB4 ports and a single microSD card slot aren’t great in terms of connectivity. At least it has a handy Windows Hello webcam for easy face unlock.
Best Buy appears to be offering this laptop on clearance, with no time limit on this deep discount. But if that’s not quite what you’re looking for, check out PCWorld’s roundup of the best laptops on the market.
