The 2026 season promises to be a record season for rookies.

Normally, when I put together the All-Rookie team for an upcoming season, it is made up largely of players who are more likely to arrive mid-season than on opening day, making it questionable whether or not they deserve your time in the revamped leagues. But every first-team All-Rookie player this year — and most of their replacements — has a legitimate chance to make the cut. Most, I would even say, are the favorites to do it.

Admittedly, I had to cheat a little. The usual threshold for rookie eligibility is 130 major league at-bats for hitters and 50 major league innings for pitchers, and not all of these players meet those thresholds. Some technically lost their eligibility as a rookie, spending too many days on the active roster. I’ve noted such cases below (and in doing so probably overused the word “technically”).

The focus here, just to reiterate, is revamping leagues. So much prospect coverage is geared toward the dynasty game that even if you learn about prospects, you may not know which ones can help you right now. Well, here they are, and most of them, at least so far, are undervalued in drafts.

This is less true for pitchers than for hitters.
