Establishment Reeling After Trump’s 7-Month War Against Deep State

President Donald Trump published a multitude of decrees to target the creation of Washington, DC, during a seven -month campaign for federal bureaucratic institutions.
The Trump administration focused on the dismantling of “the deep state” in dismissing bureaucrats and career politicians that Trump argued that partisan interests – a promise he underlined during his presidential campaign.
A February executive decree has moved all the regulatory organizations under the supervision of the White House, erasing decades of autonomy and paving the way for agency evisation such as the financial protection office of consumers and the American agency for international development (USAID). Trump has dismissed or downgraded more than 20 general inspectors since he took office, according to a report by the New York Times (NYT).
In his latest move, Trump dismissed the governor of the Federal Reserve Lisa Cook for allegations of mortgage fraud. Cook was appointed to the board of directors by former president Joe Biden.

Trump went to Truth Social to demand the resignation of Cook after the federal director of the federal agency on housing finances, Bill Pulte, announced that he would refer it to the Ministry of Justice (DoJ) for alleged mortgage fraud.
In a letter published on X later in the day, Trump said that he invoked his authority under the Federal Reserve Act to draw Cook, accusing him of signing documents that have registered him as resident of two different states.
He also moved to regain control of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) by appointing the economist EJ Antoni and asked his team to withdraw the Labor Statistics Commissioner, Erika McENTARfer, following what he called a disappointing report of July.
In the post, Trump accused Mcentarfer of “[faking] The number of jobs “before the elections in 2024 will allegedly improve the” chances of victory “of former vice-president Kamala Harris.
Its remarks occurred after the BLS reported that the US economy has only added 73,000 non -agricultural payroll jobs in July.
Trump also made the priority to fight crime in the national capital.
Earlier this month, Trump said a criminal emergency at DC and deployed the National Guard to fight the crisis. (Linked: “ We take it back ”: Trump deploying the National Guard in the streets of the capital of the nation)
He told journalists on Friday that Chicago, Illinois, could be his next goal after the DC operation is completed, potentially followed by New York.
“So I think Chicago will be our next one, then we will help with New York,” said Trump, discussing his potential plans.
Trump also qualified as a “police chief” and the DOJ now supervises criminal investigations into Russiagate.
The Office of Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) has published pages of documents concerning the scandal of “Russiagate”, or the demystified allegations that Trump’s first campaign experienced a collus with Russia to win the 2016 elections.
Since then, the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard has revoked nearly 40 security authorizations for former and current intelligence professionals. She accused them of “[abusing] Public confidence by politicizing information ”and several officials would have been involved in the evaluation of the 2017 intelligence community of the Obama Dni James Clapper (ICA).
Gabbard also reduces the waste, fraud and abuses of the federal government by considerably reducing intelligence staff. Last week, she informed the ODNI employees that she would reduce staff by 40% and close the centers which, they said, had politicized information.
In addition to reducing waste, Trump’s ODNI has made efforts to increase transparency.
The Trump administration had previously published more than 60,000 pages of classified documents linked to the assassination of former president John F. Kennedy.

Gabbard also published more than 10,000 pages of documents previously classified on the assassinations of former senator Robert F. Kennedy. The files on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. alone include more than 230,000 pages, all released under Trump’s decree in January.
After Trump’s example by eliminating corruption in the Ministry of Defense (DOD), secretary Pete Hegseth pulled the head of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Lieutenant-General Jeffrey Kruse, adding to the growing list of officials rejected since Hegseth took office.
This decision comes after a preliminary assessment disclosed by DIA from June concluded that American strikes on Iranian nuclear installations have caused no lasting damage – an assessment widely contested by other agencies and civil servants.
Trump also called for an investigation into the museums of the Smithsonian. The White House has published a summary entitled “President Trump is right on the Smithsonian”, highlighting the left of the institution.
In February, Trump revised the board of directors of the prestigious John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and announced his intention to appoint the president himself. He criticized the “awakened” management of the center and promised to shape future performance to reflect his vision.
As part of the takeover, Trump appointed the former ambassador to Germany and the curator Richard Grenell as president, who publicly supported the abolition of programs and artists politically responsible for the institution. Trump also announced that the draw for the FIFA World Cup 2026 will be held at Kennedy Center on December 5. Trump previously said on a daily basis that he was “around 98% involved” in the selection process and that “they all” had crossed it.
The Kennedy Center announced its 2025-2026 theater season in May, which features non-unionized productions and several shows not affiliated with Actors’ Equity Association, marking a significant gap of its usual programming.
