Many of 2024’s more moderate supporters have walked away because they don’t like what’s happening. This is not what they voted for. If they had been more attentive, they would have known that this was indeed what they were voting for. But from their point of view, they were electing someone to lower prices. And not only did he not do it, he made the problem even worse. And there’s just no political advantage in that.
It’s not even like if he gets the victory he wants it won’t benefit him much, because people didn’t care about it in the first place. He’s staking his entire presidency on an issue that most Americans don’t care about. And in fact, losing this matchup, it’s really the worst of all possible worlds for him.
Sergeant: There is a way to tie all of this together to close it out, which is that Trump is facing an election. China and Iran are monitoring the situation very closely. But the truth is that Donald Trump really has some kind of dictatorial urge.
I don’t know if you saw this, but he tweeted — I think it was early in the morning — something about China has a ballroom, so the United States should have one too. And then in another tweet he talked about his big golden statue. Obviously he looks at Xi, looks at what’s happening in China and says: Man, there’s a lot of glitz here. They really know how to deal with a dictator here. Why can’t I understand this? So let me just remind everyone of my golden statue.
