Longtime CES watchers know that Sony’s press conference is the traditional press day finale that precedes the show’s official opening the next day. And while that appears to be more of the same for 2026, there’s one difference: Instead of a look at Sony’s electronics, video game, and Hollywood studio plans for the new year, the presser will apparently focus on a narrower focus: electric vehicles. Apparently, the entire event will focus on two vehicles from Sony Honda Mobility: the Afeela 1 car that has made repeated appearances at CES, as well as an all-new concept model at the event.

The event will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on Monday, January 5 at 8 p.m. ET via . (We’ll embed the stream here once it appears on the channel.)

What to expect from Sony Afeela at CES

What is now the Afeela 1 has been featured in various incarnations, where it was initially announced as the Vision-S. But many other important details have been confirmed over the past couple of years, including the price, which starts at $89,900. However, first impressions were far from impressive, and as of CES 2025, that idea remains the same. Engadget auto expert Tim Stevens said earlier this year that the electric vehicle “and the car has lost what little interesting style it had while still sticking to some specs that sounded good five years ago.” Ouch.

But the Afeela 1 will not be the only vehicle on display. Its CES booth will feature “multiple Afeela 1 pre-production vehicles in multiple color variations, alongside a new Afeela concept model,” Sony Honda Mobility.

We hope to hear about the new features and improvements at CES 2026, and we’re also excited to see its new concept model. And between the booth presentations and press releases, we hope to see at least a few new Sony Electronics products on the schedule for 2026 as well.
