Trump demands ABC fire Jimmy Kimmel
President Donald Trump calls on Disney to fire Jimmy Kimmel. On Thursday, Kimmel joked that Melania Trump looked like a “future widow” in a skit about the upcoming White House Correspondents’ Dinner. The skit aired days before a gunman made an assassination attempt at the event President Trump and Melania Trump attended on Saturday. They and other administration officials were evacuated from the ballroom.
Trump – who has been the subject of significant speculation about his health in recent months – interpreted the comment as incitement to attack him. “I understand that so many people are angered by Kimmel’s despicable call to violence and would not normally respond to anything he says, but this is something far beyond normal,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Jimmy Kimmel should be fired by Disney and ABC immediately.”
Melania Trump posted on X about Kimmel Monday morning. “Enough is enough. It’s time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC executives enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior to the detriment of our community.”
Disney did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The company suspended Kimmel in September after he made a comment about Charlie Kirk’s alleged shooter following pressure from FCC Chairman Brendan Carr. He was reinstated shortly after.
