Amid several monumental Cabinet shakeups, President Donald Trump is showing his continued confidence in Vice President JD Vance by asking him to tackle an “unprecedented” problem in Democratic-led states and declaring him the nation’s “fraud czar.”
Vance announced Thursday that his fraud task force had dismantled an alleged $50 million health care and hospice fraud scheme in Los Angeles. Following this news, Trump visited Truth Social on Friday morning to officially proclaim that he was naming Vance fraud czar.
Trump said Vance would focus on “EVERYWHERE,” but with a particular emphasis on Democratic-controlled states.
“Vice President JD Vance is now in charge of ‘FRAUD’ in America,” Trump wrote. “We’ll call him the ‘Fraud Czar’ and he’ll be focused ‘EVERYWHERE,’ but primarily in those blue states where TWISTED DEMOCRATIC POLITICIANS, like those in California, Illinois, Minnesota (watch out for Somalia!), Maine, New York and many others, have been treated to an unprecedented theft of taxpayer dollars.”

As fraud manager, “the work that (Vance) will do, working with many great people in the Trump administration, will be a major factor in the greatness of our country’s future,” Trump wrote.
“The numbers are so high that if successful, we would literally be able to balance our U.S. budget.”
He highlighted the work Vance has already done in California, writing: “The raids have already started in Los Angeles” and concluding: “Good luck JD!
The president had previously named Vance to head the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, which is a government-wide crackdown on fraud in federal benefits programs.
However, Trump’s designation of Vance as fraud manager, an informal title, underscores the importance he places on the task force and his confidence in Vance to get the job done.

Trump initially announced that he would put Vance in charge of the “war on fraud,” and the position was solidified by Trump’s executive order creating the Fraud Task Force and placing Vance at the helm.
The announcement followed a news report revealing allegations of widespread fraud and abuse in Minnesota, largely involving the state’s Somali immigrant community.
Trump’s announcement comes a day after the president announced the removal of Attorney General Pam Bondi from her position at the Justice Department, a move that political analyst Jonathan Turley said hit Washington, D.C., like a “clap of thunder.”

A few weeks earlier, the president also removed former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
There are widespread rumors that Trump is unhappy with several other high-ranking members of his cabinet, although he has not said so publicly himself.
