Trump teases US will be ‘taking over’ Cuba ‘almost immediately’

President Donald Trump appeared to joke during his speech Friday at the Forum Club in Palm Beaches, Florida, that the United States would “take over” Cuba “almost immediately,” while acknowledging attendees including former Rep. Dan Mica.
“And it comes, originally, from a place called Cuba, which we will take control of almost immediately,” Trump said.
“Cuba has problems. We’ll finish them first. I like finishing a job.”

Trump then spoke of a hypothetical American show of force.
“Coming back from Iran, we will have one of our largest aircraft carriers, perhaps the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, the largest in the world,” he said.
“We’ll have it come in, stop about 100 yards offshore, and they’ll say, ‘Thank you very much, we’re giving up.'”

The president did not provide further details.
The White House did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for clarification on whether the remarks were hypothetical or described policy plans.
