UK's national soil database released as open-access repository

Cranfield University has launched a new online soil and environment database and mapping tool, opening up detailed information about the land of England and Wales. Working with Defra, Cranfield’s Land Information System (LandISPortal) — which includes the National Land Map of England and Wales (NATMAP) — is now on a new platform and open access, free and available to all. The initiative delivers on the government’s Land Use Framework commitment to make this land data openly accessible.
