Democrat Senate Hopeful Haley Stevens Gets Caught Touting Fake Endorsement

A Michigan Democrat who presents himself to the Senate seems to have made an approval of an elected representative who says that he has never told her about his campaign.
Michigan Democratic representative Haley Stevens posted on X to publicly thank the Berrien County Commissioner, Chokwe Pitchford, for having approved him, calling for his “inspiring” work. But Pitchford quickly denied the complaint.
I literally never approved it or heard a word from his team. I promise you, I did not speak to anyone, sent an email to anyone of the endorsements, or even housing that I would be open to approve it. https://t.co/ttm7u6raot

“I am really honored to be approved by the Pitchford Commissioner. Your work in the county of Berrien is inspiring. Thank you, commissioner,” said Stevens in an article now deleted.
Pitchford republished Stevens’ remarks and never denied approved.
“I have literally never approved it or heard a word from his team. I promise you, I did not tell anyone, sent an e-mail to nobody of the endorsements, or even hinted that I would be open to approve it,” wrote Pitchford.
Stevens launched his campaign in April for the open headquarters of the American Senate of Michigan, setting up a main fight against two left challengers. Its campaign website indicates that Stevens “will reduce the costs for Michigan families, will continue to stimulate the Michigan manufacturing and car industries and resists the Trump-Musk chaos agenda”. Stevens is entering a democratic field which includes Senator Mallory Mallory and the former candidate of Governor Abdul El-Sayed. More than 40% of democratic voters remain undecided in the primary of the crowded Senate of Michigan, according to a July survey of the National Republican Senate Committee. Stevens leads the field with support of 24%, followed closely by El-Sayed at 22%, while Senator Mallory McMorrow is 11%.
Stevens’ office did not immediately respond to the request for comments from the Daily Call News Foundation.
