VP Vance Addressing His Fellow Marines in Rousing Remarks During 250th Birthday Celebration – RedState
Unless you’ve been hiding your head under an entire beachfront of sand, you’ve heard about the second annual “No Kings” protests happening across the country on Saturday, October 18, 2025. While it might have been the main event for some today, it wasn’t for a large group along a very special beach in California – Camp Pendleton – where the United States Marine Corps gathered to celebrate its 250th anniversary with the Vice President JD Vance alongside them.
The title of the program for the anniversary of the founding of the branch in 1775 is “Marine 250: from the sea to the shore”.
Also there, instead of hanging out with the Boomer-type losers at the protests, was my Townhall.com colleague Kurt Schlichter (although he’s retired from the military):

On his inauguration day last January, as RedState has previously written, Vance achieved a distinction that no other vice president of the United States can claim: the nation’s first Marine to hold the office.

Also present alongside Vice President Vance were Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Secretary of the Navy John C. Phelan, and Commandant of the Marine Corps General Eric M. Smith.

Navy SEALs, paratroopers and other Navy and Marine personnel participated in a “beach cleanup operation” demonstration, as Lt. Col. Pirek explained in a preview:

Just before the vice president took the stage, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth addressed the Marines, congratulating both the commander in chief and his second in command:

“We are blessed to watch our Commander in Chief fight for all of you every day. I know it because I see it,” Hegseth said. “President Trump appreciates your dedication, your courage, your tenacity. The sacrifices you make and the sacrifices all your families make.”
“We know that no Marine serves alone. They serve alongside a family,” he continued. “Someone else who understands this is Vice President Vance, who stands alongside President Trump. He himself has made the same type of sacrifices as you.”
“Your vice president enlisted after high school in the Marine Corps and served in Iraq. Your vice president knows and shares the dedication of that force, and he still represents you in Washington,” he added. “I have the honor of seeing Vice President Vance – day in and day out – living the values of the Marine Corps, speaking out and speaking the truth, having courage… It’s an incredible thing to watch!”

Vance delivered a personal message from President Trump, saying he is proud of them, that he loves them and that he is going to make sure that despite Schumer’s shutdown, they will be paid “exactly what they are.” [they] deserve.”

Vice President Vance recounted his memories of the day he walked into the recruiting office and displayed the same dedication to service to the nation as the men and women gathered on the sunny shores of the Golden State at Camp Pendleton:
