It has been more than three years since Chainsaw man made his animated debut, marking the first incarnation of Tatsuki Fuijmoto’s popular manga on screen. Season 2 is still in the works, but the feature film Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc was released last fall during that very, very long wait. Now, the film is expected to be released just in time for Ani-May.
In season 1 of the series, fans witnessed the transformation of teenager Denji into the Chainsaw Man and his recruitment into the Public Safety Division, a government group that hunts demons and protects society. There’s a lot of blood, gore, and violent conflict in the series, but somehow there’s also a visible tenderness in Denji through his dynamic with his devil buddy Pochita. Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc streaming release date
From Studio MAPPA, the film will premiere on Crunchyroll on THURSDAY. You can also stream season 1 of the show on Crunchyroll or Hulu.
Crunchyroll increased its prices this year, with the new subscription plan pricing changing as follows: Fan costs $10 per month; Mega Fan costs $14 per month; Ultimate Fan now costs $18 per month.
Ani-May brings the Anime Awards, Chainsaw Man and more
In addition to watching the Chainsaw Man movie, fans should prepare for the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026 as part of the streamer’s Ani-May celebration. The awards ceremony will be broadcast live from Tokyo on Crunchyroll and TikTok on May 23, crowning new winners as chosen by fans and judges.
Multiple watch parties will be happening throughout the month on YouTube so you can join in to watch some titles with other fans around the world, and on May 14, a seven-day Twitch live stream will begin. The anime marathon will be a first for Crunchyroll on the platform.
