Washington Township Police serve the community on a snow day

During this weekend’s snowfall, Washington Township first responders responded to help the community with weather-related events.
They prepared during the week to ensure they had enough staff and plans in place to deal with the heavy snowfall.
“With a snowstorm, we had a lot of car accidents, a lot of cars stuck in the snow, a lot of downed trees. The snow is heavy, so it’s knocking branches down on the power lines,” said Chief Patrick Gurcsik of the Washington Township Police Department.

“We’re actually a small community and everyone here knows each other. And it’s nice to work in a community like this. We’re loved by our residents and we’re lucky to have that here in town,” he continued.
