Prosecutors released body camera footage showing the first interaction between Luigi Mangione and the officers. The footage shows Mangione inside a McDonald’s restaurant in Altoona, Pennsylvania, where officers approached him and asked his name.
Mangione, 27, was arrested at McDonald’s on Dec. 9, 2024, ending a five-day manhunt following the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York.
Mangione has pleaded not guilty to both state and federal murder charges, which carry the death penalty.
