WASHINGTON (AP) — Bub Carrington and Anthony Gill scored 13 points each day and helped spark a decisive quarter-period decision for the Washington Wizards, who held on only to eliminate the young Indiana Pacers 112-105.
Kadary Richmond and Jaden Hardy also had 13 points each day by Washington, which won one of its three errors on a day when it announced that Trae Young was, at minimum, a week removed from his debut with the team.
Bilal Coulibaly and Tristan Vukcevic score 12 points each in the first set of a two-game series against the same rival.
Jarace Walker scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Pacers, who went 2-3 in a tour of their games as visitors – the most of the season – that kicked off the Estrellas Game reception.
Taelon Peter had 16 points for Indiana, a party to Washington at the bottom of that conference’s standings. Jay Huff and Ben Sheppard anotaron 15 cada uno.
Pacers bases Kam Jones (pain on the espalda) and Aaron Nesmith (tobillo injury) retire before the descent.
