WY Rep. Hageman Launches Senate Bid Backed by Trump, GOP

Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-WY) announced her campaign for U.S. Senate in 2026, emphasizing her commitment to Wyoming communities, energy production and immigration control.
Hageman released his campaign announcement video on social media platform In the video, she talks about how her mother was born on a farm in Wyoming 102 years ago and reflects on how much has changed in that time — from cars and clothing to technology. She states that “our standard of living has exploded over the last century, and the primary reason is: the commercial production of reliable, affordable energy,” recognizing Wyoming as a leader in this progress and pledging to continue to advocate for this way of life.
Hageman also highlighted his success in securing $15 million in federal infrastructure funds for Wyoming projects, his opposition to federal land management policies and his work with President Trump to secure border funding and provide tax breaks. She also pledged to strengthen immigration controls, saying: “We are working together to secure the border and fund efforts to deport and deport people illegally in the country.” »
President Trump’s endorsement of Truth Social came shortly after:
Well-respected Congresswoman Harriet Hageman is running for U.S. Senate in the great state of Wyoming, a place I love and WON BIG in 2016, 2020, and 2024!
I know Harriet well and she is a TOTAL WINNER! Harriet has ALWAYS delivered on her promises for Wyoming and will continue to do so in the United States Senate. She will fight tirelessly to grow our economy, reduce taxes and regulations, promote MADE IN THE USA, advance American energy DOMINANCE, defend our incredible farmers and ranchers, keep our border SECURE, end migrant crime, support our incredible military/veterans, and defend our still-embattled Second Amendment.
Harriet Hageman has my complete and total support to be your next senator – SHE WILL NEVER LET YOU TOUCH!
Additional support came from the senator, chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Tim Scottas well as the senators Bernie Moreno, Jim BanksAnd Markwayne Mullin.
Hageman’s announcement follows Senator Cynthia Lummis’ decision not to seek a second term. Lummis, who currently serves in the Senate and previously served in the U.S. House of Representatives, cited the demanding nature of the Senate’s work as a factor in his decision. She was a vocal advocate for American energy independence and limited government, often praising Trump-era energy initiatives and warning of federal oversight under the Biden administration. In his retirement statement, Lummis expressed gratitude for serving alongside Hageman and other Wyoming lawmakers.
Hageman has consistently taken legislative action against sanctuary jurisdictions. In May, she introduced the “Sanctuary Cities Student Visa Ban Act,” which would deny student visas to institutions located in jurisdictions that do not respect ICE detainees. The bill received support from several House Republicans and was presented by Hageman as a response to what she described as systemic disregard for immigration law by some Democratic-controlled areas.
Throughout his tenure, Hageman has positioned herself as a representative of the American working class and working-class communities at the heart of energy production, saying: “There is a new generation of Republicans. We are the blue-collar workers, we are the ones producing things, getting our hands dirty, improving people’s lives, producing energy.”
She has argued that the federal government served the interests of elites by saying:
He is working against us and on behalf of an elite cabal of people who have managed to bank – both financially and in terms of power – and do things that not only would our founders never have wanted us to do or even consider, but which are terribly destructive to our culture and our future.
In an interview with Breitbart News, she criticized US funding for hostile entities: “We fought a war against the Taliban for 20 years, and then we find out we sent them millions of dollars. She also took aim at US aid to international organizations, saying: “We have sent money to Hamas. Look how much money we have sent to the UN and Hamas through their specific agency to deal with what is happening in Israel and the Gaza Strip. I mean, what a horrible organization, and we funded it.”
His 2022 campaign against Rep. Liz Cheney saw record turnout in the Wyoming primary, with Hageman beating Cheney by 37 points. According to HagemanCheney lost because she remained focused on President Donald Trump rather than on issues important to Wyoming voters, including inflation, illegal immigration and energy.
