YouTube TV is getting a discount for Verizon subscribers

Verizon is currently offering a discount for its mobile and home internet customers who want to try out Google’s YouTube TV streaming service. This is a nice perk for people already paying for Verizon service because it drops the price for the first half of the year.
The deal cuts $20 off the monthly price of YouTube TV for the first six months of service. If you look at the standard rate, which currently sits at $82.99 each month, that $20 discount takes the price down to a much more manageable $62.99 per month plus taxes. I would say this is a great way to test the water if you have been considering cutting the cord but were hesitant about the high monthly cost of live TV streaming.
You do have to link your YouTube TV account directly through My Verizon to redeem this offer. You’ll need to navigate to the Products and plan perks page in the My Verizon app or website and select YouTube TV to begin the activation process. Your streaming bill then gets rolled right into your existing Verizon monthly statement.
This offer is strictly for new YouTube TV customers. If you have used the service in the past, even if you are a Verizon customer now, you won’t be eligible for the savings.
While the discount is substantial, you need to keep in mind that the $82.99 price tag kicks in immediately after the initial six-month promotional period ends. That is a pretty steep jump, so you should definitely set a reminder to reevaluate whether you want to keep the service before month seven hits.
If you decide it is not for you, the good news is that there are no annual contracts or hidden fees. If you want to leave, you can end the subscription directly via a web browser or the mobile app.
For those who haven’t tried YouTube TV yet, it’s a streaming package that feels a lot like cable because you get more than 100 live TV channels. The lineup covers major network broadcasts, regional sports, and real-time news coverage. It is designed to replace traditional cable without requiring you to purchase extra equipment or deal with installation fees.
The plan comes with unlimited cloud DVR storage, meaning you never have to delete old recordings to make room for new ones. You also get full playback controls like rewinding, fast-forwarding, or pausing live broadcasts.
The service is also designed for sharing across a household. Every subscription includes six user accounts per household, letting everyone in your family keep their own personalized watchlist and viewing history separate. You also get three simultaneous streams, which means three different people can be watching different things on three different devices at the same time.
If you are already a Verizon customer and have been looking for an excuse to try out YouTube TV, this is a solid moment to jump in. Just sign up on Verizon’s website to add it to your plan.
