1 dead, 1 hospitalized in crash on I-105 in Eugene

A fatal crash disrupted traffic on eastbound Interstate 105 in Eugene on May 23.
Around 7 a.m., multiple emergency response agencies reported that a vehicle had left the road and crashed into a tree just east of Coburg Road, Eugene Springfield fire officials said in a news release.
The vehicle came to rest on its side, against a fence.
One person died of their injuries at the scene, firefighters said. A second person was taken to PeaceHealth Sacred Heart RiverBend Medical Center in Springfield.
One person died and another was hospitalized when a vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree on Interstate 105 just east of Coburg Road in Eugene.
The Oregon Department of Transportation and the Eugene Police Department assisted in the response. ODOT’s TripCheck road alert system showed backups in the eastbound lanes of I-05 just west of Coburg Road at 10:30 a.m.
