The mayor of Louisville, Kentucky, says the death toll from a UPS cargo plane crash rises to 14 and no one appears still missing among the missing.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The death toll from the crash of a UPS cargo plane rises to 14 and no one remains among the missing, the mayor of Louisville, Kentucky, said Saturday.

The 13 victims located at the crash site match the total number of missing persons reported to police, Mayor Craig Greenberg said in an article on X.

“We believe the total number of victims will be 14,” including one person who died Friday at a hospital, Greenberg wrote.

The Jefferson County coroner was working to identify the victims and would release their names as soon as those identities were confirmed, Greenberg added.

Tuesday’s crash at UPS Worldport killed all three pilots of the Honolulu-bound MD-11. A major fire broke out in the left wing and an engine separated during takeoff, causing the plane to crash into businesses.

The Federal Aviation Administration on Saturday ordered McDonnell Douglas MD-11 planes not to be flown pending further inspection. The order follows decisions Friday by UPS and FedEx to ground their MD-11 fleets as a precaution.

MD-11 aircraft make up approximately 9% of the UPS airline fleet and 4% of the FedEx fleet.
