Israeli military announces killing of Hezbollah intelligence officer

The Israeli military said the head of the intelligence headquarters of the pro-Iranian Hezbollah militia in Lebanon was killed on Sunday night.
A military spokesman said on Monday that Hussein Makled was responsible for intelligence work to provide Hezbollah fighters with information about Israel and the Israeli military.
“The terrorist organization Hezbollah has decided to join the Iranian terrorist regime and will have to bear the consequences of its attack on the state of Israel,” the statement said.

The Israeli Air Force launched a new wave of attacks on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon on Monday afternoon. An Israeli military spokesman had previously called on residents to evacuate these areas.
Israeli Chief of General Staff Eyal Zamir said during a troop visit to northern Israel that the military would not end its mission “until the threat from Lebanon is eliminated.”
