New York City is set to host the new “Constellation Ball” in Times Square on Wednesday evening to ring in 2026.
Organizers gathered Tuesday to test the iconic crystal ball up and down the 139-foot pole before its grand debut.
The ball features 5,280 circular Waterford crystal LED lights. The number is almost double that of its predecessors, which were also triangular in shape.
This year, the balloon will also symbolize the kickoff of America’s 250th birthday celebrations.
