Al-Jamaa al-Islamiya members arrested in southern Syria have acknowledged ties to Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran, as Israel, Syria and the United States face growing regional tensions.

Al-Jamaa al-Islamiya terrorists who were arrested after operating in southern Syria admitted to having links to Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran during interrogation, a source told Israeli public broadcaster KAN News on Saturday.

The detainees also admitted to receiving funding from these sources in order to arm themselves to carry out attacks against Israel.

The group’s terrorists, largely based in Lebanon, have issued a denial that the group operates in Syria.

This follows the killing of three members of the terrorist organization by soldiers of the IDF’s 55th Brigade in Beit Jen, southern Syria, during a nighttime operation confirmed by the army on Friday.

The group has been involved in several attacks against Israel since the start of the war, working alongside Hamas in Lebanon and Syria, and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Thirteen people were killed and 24 injured during the operation, according to Syrian state media.

The terrorist group ambushed the IDF after it withdrew after carrying out the operation.

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa’s general intelligence orchestrated the ambush as well as previous attacks on Druze communities, KAN reported Friday, citing informed sources.

Israel is trying to “drag” Damascus into a confrontation through multiple provocations, a senior Syrian intelligence official, Hamza al-Mustafa, said on Saturday, Al Jazeera reported.

“Israel miscalculates when it thinks it can impose facts on the ground,” he said. “We are not ashamed to say that we are not in a position of strength, especially after the liberation, and we want to focus on rebuilding the country.

“We will not be a launching pad to threaten neighboring countries, but we will spare no means to confront and deter Israeli aggression. »

In an effort to stabilize the region, the United States plans to send several envoys, including Morgan Ortagus, KAN noted.

Furthermore, Israel insists that the IDF will not withdraw from Mount Hermon and other points along the Israeli-Syrian border without a comprehensive agreement with Damascus.

Hamas and PIJ terrorists aim to build terrorist infrastructure and have a presence in Syria

Hamas terrorists are seeking to establish a military presence in Syria and are helping Hezbollah in Lebanon, KAN reported Wednesday.

Hamas considers Syria a suitable base for terrorist activities and members of the Damascus government, while not necessarily Sharia compliant, allow them to establish a military presence in the country, the channel added.

At the same time, the terrorist group is helping Hezbollah’s Radwan Force strengthen its position in southern Lebanon, significantly strengthening it, including assigning terrorist operative companies to help Hezbollah expand its presence and replenish its rocket supply.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorist organization has begun strengthening its military presence in Syria, according to a report published by KAN on Wednesday.

This would come as Syria is fully aware of the PIJ’s efforts and comes as Hamas builds its strength in Lebanon through increased cooperation with Hezbollah.

KAN reported that the PIJ has expanded the capabilities of its military wing, the al-Quds Brigades, in Syria in recent weeks, noting a particular increase in activity in Palestinian refugee camps near Damascus.
