Brock Purdy injury update: 49ers QB to return in Week 4 vs. Jaguars after missing two games with turf toe

The quarter-back of the 49ers Brock Purdy will return to the starting program on Sunday in week 4 against Jacksonville jaguars after missing the last two weeks due to an injury to the Gazon toe. Purdy suffered the injury during a week 1 victory against Seattle Seahawks and was sidelined in the past two weeks against New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals.
“He looked good,” the 49ers Kyle Shanahan coach on Friday. “I have to do much more than last week. Each day, he has improved a lot.”
In the absence of Purdy, the Mac Jones rescue quarter led the 49ers to consecutive victories to go to 3-0 before Sunday meetings with the Jaguars. Last week, before the match against Arizona, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said that Purdy had a “chance” to play in the team’s home opening, but rather chose to start Jones.
“Brock is still prepared,” said Shanahan. “He played in matches with zero training. He obtained, for the most part, all this week.”
Jones, meanwhile, is questionable for week 4 with a knee injury.
