First look at former Patriots S Jabrill Peppers returning as a Steeler
The security of veterans Jabrill Peppers arrived at the Gillette stadium as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers before Sunday’s match against the New England Patriots.
It is a scenario that little awaited since it was only last year that Peppers was elected as team captain. Even with the massive changes of coach in New England, the veteran defensive back seemed to be locked up as a likely contributor to the defense of Mike Vrabel.
But then, the shocking news came that he had been released by the team, shortly after making the initial list of 53 men. Peppers later signed a one -year agreement with the Steelers, and now he will have the chance to face his former teammates.
The patriot’s safety position seems completely different under Truebel with the Craig Woodson recruit and the veteran Jaylinn Hawkins serving best options. Kyle Dugger, who started safe alongside Peppers last year, is still in a reduced role.
This will be an opportunity for peppers to show that the patriots have made a mistake by letting it go. This decision was not popular among fans when it happened for the first time, and time will finally tell us if it was a wise decision or a New England error.
