Global population living with extreme heat expected to double by 2050

A new study from the University of Oxford reveals that almost half of the world’s population (3.79 billion) will live in extreme heat by 2050 if the world reaches global warming of 2.0°C above pre-industrial levels – a scenario that climate scientists see as increasingly likely.
