Here’s What Supposedly Prompted MTG’s Transformation

The New York Times published an article about Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (GA-14) transformation from ardent Trump supporter to Trump critic.

Matt Vespa from our sister site Townhall notes this particular part:

It also, Greene said, clarified something about herself. Over the past five years, as Trump’s most notorious acolyte in Congress, she had adopted his unrepentant pugilism as her own. “Our team was trained by Donald Trump to never apologize and never admit wrongdoing,” she told me in her Capitol Hill office one afternoon in early December. “You keep hitting your enemies no matter what. And as a Christian, I don’t believe in that. I agree with Erika Kirk, who did the hardest thing possible and said it out loud.”

Greene’s reaction put her in a clear minority among influential conservative figures. Almost immediately after Kirk was pronounced dead, many of his fellow right-wingers — billionaire Elon Musk, Fox News host Jesse Watters, podcaster Steve Bannon — called the killing an act of war by the left and urged their audiences to think in similar terms.

But Greene — who for years took second place to no one when it came to reactionary rhetoric, going so far before taking office as to accuse Democrats, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi, of treasonous conduct and adding that treason was punishable by imprisonment or death — found that she had suddenly lost all appetite for revenge. She later told a friend, who confirmed the exchange: “After Charlie died, I realized I was part of this toxic culture. I really started to look at my faith. I wanted to be more like Christ.

Now I think if someone wants to be more like Christ, that’s a good thing. And Republicans, of course, can have different opinions on policies.

But I see a little cognitive dissonance there, if it’s true (and it’s a New York Times story, so we always have to have that caveat in there), when we consider images like this of her being cozy with Code Pink.

If Code Pink congratulates you, remember that it’s not a good thing. They were the ones who approached President Donald Trump in September in an inexcusable security breach and chanted, “Trump is the Hitler of our times.” They are far left; there’s nothing MAGA about them.

Then there was this story about his visit with the ladies of The View.

“These women were the same type of women who have always been my friends. Well-off, educated suburban women, that’s who I am. So I couldn’t wait to talk to these ladies. I was so tired of toxic politics.”

Well, that’s certainly a catch.

It’s also funny that the liberal media now accepts her transformation just because she criticized Trump, when they previously attacked and mocked her.

That’s all they care about: being anti-Trump. The liberal media did the same thing to former Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney when they previously portrayed the Cheneys as evil.

This is once again a great window into their main objective.
