The best gift for a parent is ultimately less chaos. You can buy them AirTags, offer to babysit their kids, or send them on vacation. The ultra-useful Skylight digital calendar is one of Mashable’s best gift ideas for moms and dads, and it’s $90 off at Best Buy on December 16.
At $229.99 on December 16 only, Best Buy’s price beats the record price of $249.99 we saw on Amazon on Black Friday. The 15-inch Skylight Calendar is currently full price ($319.99) on Amazon, so this nearly $100 savings is rare.

You’ll only see the sale price on the Best Buy mobile app (Best Buy drops don’t appear in a web browser.) From there, you can add it to your cart and check out as usual. The problem is that all Best Buy deals have limited inventory, with a live status bar to track the percentage remaining. As of 12:15 p.m. ET, Skylight Calendar had 75% remaining in stock.

Skylight can sync with Google, iCloud, Outlook, Yahoo, and Cozi calendars to streamline multiple people’s schedules on one common device. Appointments, meetings, events, weekly tasks and even shopping lists can also be added directly from the Skylight app, even if something pops up when you’re away from home. Everything can be labeled and color coded for each member of the household.
But busy parents aren’t the Skylight calendar’s only target audience — it’s literally a tip for anyone with lots to do. Mashable contributor Jae Thomas, who is a journalist and editor, dog trainer, and works at a kennel one day a week, immediately felt more organized after incorporating a Skylight calendar into the weekly mix.
Thomas can confirm that yes, having a central hub like the Skylight is a nice upgrade over just sharing a Google Calendar with someone. “I feel little bursts of dopamine when I check things off my to-do list, and it’s easier for me and my partner to stay in sync about where we’ll both be during the week. I really wish we had this when we were sharing a car — it would have saved us a lot of arguments and miscommunication about schedules.”
