Modos wants to end screen fatigue forever with a 75Hz e-paper that feels faster than it sounds

E-PAPER has the last years that have often been relegated to niche applications, largely because of its slow refresh rates and its limited interactivity.
However, Modos Tech tries to upset this perception with a new set of developer kits with electronic paper screens capable of reaching 75 Hz refresh levels, which are now crowdfunding.
Although this figure may not run heads in the consumption monitor space, this productivity tool introduces a different type of performance which is aimed at targeted work and without distraction.
A different approach to reactive electronic paper
Modos attributes its performance improvements to an open to harassment design designed around the FPGA Xilinx Spartan-6.
This controller, combined with a DDR3 Framebuffer and STM32H750 microcontroller, eliminates typical owners’ strangulation bottlenecks in business screens in electronic paper.
The company suggests that traditional systems are limited by obsolete material decisions that limit response time and conviviality, because it affirms that its open design raises these obstacles and introduces real -time reactivity to what has historically been a static technology.

Although the architecture supports colored displays, none is offered at this stage – instead, the current implementation is aimed at users who prioritize simplicity and readability to visual wealth.
Kits include USB type-C and HDMI ports, making them compatible with the main desktop platforms, including Windows, MacOS and Linux.
Its USB Type-C can manage both data and power, but those who choose to connect via HDMI will need an additional power source for operation.
This device is available in 6 inches and 13.3 inches that sell $ 199 and $ 599 respectively.
But do not be mistaken on this device, it will not replace commercial tablets or traditional laptops.
However, for users with specific visual or cognitive requirements, they offer an alternative that minimizes eye fatigue and digital noise.
